Six WWII vets walk into a Wolfgang Puck restuarant and the Hostess says…

October 26, 2010

Actually, wait.  It’s really not funny at all… she tells them to leave.  Their baseball caps and POW t-shirts didn’t meet the restaurants ‘business casual’ dress code.

You’ll be happy to know that the restaurant apologized later by sending the group two bottles of Scotch.  (Why do people think that all old men can be placated by Scotch?)

I suppose ‘business casual’ really has a lot to do with what ‘business’ you’re in.  And personally, I’d say that if your ‘business’ involved spending two years in a German POW camp, you are more than allowed to wear whatever the hell you want.

Yes. I’ve seen my husband, a Gulf War veteran, secretly pay for the meal of an older veteran he saw coming into a restaurant as we were leaving–and it was the military baseball cap that alerted him to the man’s service.
