That Outfit Doesn’t Fly.

July 11, 2010

I’ve always thought that going through American airport security sucks.  …but now I’ve got a new perspective.

71 women have been banned from flights in Iran because of their “inappropriate dress” in the last few months.

Iran’s airport security chief, Nabiollah Heidari, reported that “in the first 82 days of the current Iranian year (starting March 21), 71 women were barred from boarding flights because they were improperly dressed.”

Just in case it seems extreme to block 71 women from flying due to their outfits, just image the other 87,714 women during the same time that received warnings for not properly covering their hair at the airport!

Makes me wonder how many women fly in Iran…  um… what percentage of women who go through Iranian airports without receiving a warning?!
