Meter Maids!

It may have been cute in 1965 to have bikini-clad women slipping coins into expired parking meters along Australia’s Gold Coast.  But now in 2010 the coin meters are gone, and people are wondering what exactly these young ladies wandering around in gold bikinis should be doing.

The most popular new suggestion is to have the women promote the Gold Coast as a family tourist destination.  This would move the ladies away from the beach, making the gold lamé bikinis even more redundant, despite views on whether bikinis are actually an appropriate costume for promoting family tourism.
