Don’t Cross(dress) The Law

Cross-dressing and (male only) homosexuality are illegal in Guyana, making it the very last South American country to update their LGBT laws.  (Obviously political leaders in Guyana didn’t want to crush any female manage-a-trois fantasies…)

Recently Guyana police cracked down on cross-dressing, arresting 6 male cross-dressers and bringing international attention to their outdated laws.

Last month the six filed with the Guyana Supreme Court to overturn the cross-dressing laws.  The Supreme Court hasn’t announced whether they’ll take the case yet, but being the last South American country with bans on homosexuality (and something as innocent as feeling more comfortable in a sun-dress), it seems like a change in law is only a matter of time…
