Hip-Hop Government Says NO to Saggy Pants

March 29, 2010

After the city of Dallas, TX proposed a fine on people ‘sagging’ their pants, the group Hip-Hop Government joined forces with the city in creating an ad campaign called “Pull ‘Em Up!” to encourage young people to wear their pants closer to their natural waists.

Although an ad campaign is better than enforcing fines on people wearing their individual selection of clothing, you have to wonder what sort of effect slogans like these have on their target audience…

“Don’t be lame, Elevate your game.”

“That’s not hip-hop that’s flip flop.”

“Represent yourself like you present yourself.”

…not that anyone’s stereotyping or anything.
